Who we are & scope
Fuego is offered by Fuego (fuegoapp.co). This policy applies to our mobile apps, websites, and related services (the “Services”).

Sources of information
- Directly from you (account setup, in-app activity, support).
- Automatically from your device and app interactions (usage, diagnostics, crash logs).
- From your device with permission (contacts, approximate location, photos/camera).
- From service providers (analytics, fraud prevention, payments, cloud hosting).
Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate the Services, maintain safety, and improve user experience.
- Account & profile. Name, username, phone number, age range, grade, school, profile photo, biography, and settings.
- Contacts (with permission). Phone contacts to help you find friends already using Fuego. We do not spam contacts; you can revoke access in device settings.
- Location (with permission). Approximate location to find your school, show nearby friends, and verify campus access.
- Device & technical. Device model, OS version, app version, language, IP address, identifiers (e.g., push token, device token), diagnostics, and crash data.
- Usage. In-app actions (screens viewed, features used, interactions) to keep the app reliable and improve recommendations.
- Content you create. Photos, posts, messages, and other in-app activity you submit or share with others.
- Purchases. Subscription or in-app purchase details (processed by Apple/Google/RevenueCat; we do not store full payment card numbers).
- Support & communications. Messages you send to us (including email, forms, or in-app contact).
- Cookies / local storage. Limited web storage for preferences and session continuity on fuegoapp.co.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, and secure the Services (including authentication and fraud prevention).
- Personalize your experience and improve recommendations (e.g., suggested friends and schools).
- Communicate about service updates, transactions, and optional notifications you control in settings.
- Process subscriptions and in-app purchases, including tax calculation where applicable.
- Monitor performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Protect users and the platform, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal requirements.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
- Contract. To provide the Services you request.
- Legitimate interests. To secure, improve, and promote the Services where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent. For optional features like contacts, location, and certain analytics/notifications. You can withdraw consent in device settings or in-app where available.
- Legal obligation. To comply with law, tax, or regulatory requirements.
Your choices & controls
- Update or delete profile details within the app.
- Revoke contact or location access at any time in device settings; some features may require them to function.
- Manage notifications through device settings and in-app preferences.
- Request account/data deletion by contacting support@fuegoapp.co or using in-app options when available.
- Opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe links (if enabled); service messages will still be sent.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
- We use limited cookies/local storage on fuegoapp.co for session continuity and preferences.
- We use analytics and diagnostics (e.g., Firebase/Google Analytics, crash reporting) to understand performance and reliability.
- We do not run third-party ads in the app and do not sell personal information.
- Mobile apps rely on device IDs and push tokens for notifications you control.
- Do Not Track signals are not consistently honored by all providers; we currently do not alter behavior solely in response to DNT.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your region (including EEA/UK/California/Virginia and similar laws), you may have rights to:
- Access and receive a copy of your information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete information (subject to retention needs and legal obligations).
- Port data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where relied upon.
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell personal information).
- Appeal a denied request where applicable.
Submit requests by emailing support@fuegoapp.co. We may need to verify your identity and may deny requests as allowed by law. Authorized agents can submit requests with proof of authority.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. Backup copies may persist for a limited period.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards (including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring) to protect information. No system is perfect; notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized activity.
Children & eligibility
Fuego is designed for high school students and is not available to anyone under 13. If we learn we collected information from someone younger than 13, we will delete it. Minors should obtain permission from a parent or guardian where required by law.
International data transfers
We operate primarily in the United States. If you access Fuego from another region, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, operational, or legal changes. We will post updates at https://fuegoapp.co/privacy and change the effective date above. Significant changes may also be communicated in-app or by notice where required.
